Yves Gauthier has been appointed the new chief executive officer of Mobinil. Gauthier will replace Hassan Kabbani whose mandate expires in September 2011 and who wishes to pursue other career opportunities outside the Group.

Yves Gauthier has spent much of his career within the France Telecom-Orange Group, where he held positions as CEO or chief operating officer of various subsidiaries of the group in different countries.

Yves Gauthier will take up his position as Mobinil’s new Chief Executive Officer on 15 November 2011. Mobinil Chairman Alex Shalaby will act as intermediate CEO during the period before Gauthier arrives.

Hassan made a remarkable contribution to the development of Mobinil, which has increased its customer base from 20 million to 30 million subscribers between 2008 and 2010.
