Nokia has officially appointed Patrik Hammarén as President of Nokia Technologies and member of the Nokia Group Leadership Team. He will be based in Finland and will report to Pekka Lundmark, Nokia’s President and Chief Executive Officer.

Nokia has partnered with Ooredoo Oman to deploy a state-of-the-art Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) wholesale network. This project will meet the evolving needs of hyperscalers’ data centers, AI-driven applications, and cloud-based platforms while establishing Oman as a key connectivity hub between the Indian Ocean, the Gulf, and Europe.

Nokia and Zain KSA announced a partnership to address mobile coverage gaps and optimize connectivity for enterprise customers. The two partners will achieve this by delivering the first 4G/5G femtocell solution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.

Nokia has opened a ‘NextGen Lab’, providing an interactive environment for local businesses and partners to experience and explore Nokia’s latest technologies. Ericsson has launched its generative AI-based, next-generation NetCloud Assistant (ANA)—a virtual expert designed to simplify enterprise 5G network administration. Unlike traditional chatbots, which leverage search functions to provide links to existing resources, ANA can read, understand, and generate new text and graphical content.

Nokia has successfully completed a network slicing trial with du, the leading telecom and digital services provider. This trial is the UAE’s first live transport slicing deployment which will allow the service provider to operate a variety of network services that cater to different needs while remaining within the existing network infrastructure.
