The ICT sector in Oman continues to expand on both local and international levels. The modernizations in e-commerce and e-government have enabled private and public organizations as well and brought a lot of benefits. The Sultanate provides a fertile environment to leverage new technologies, and Artificial Intelligence applications, targeting to attract foreign investments to the sector, through supporting these technologies, and accommodating their initiative testing, supporting its digital transformation and globalization.

A recent enhancement to Emirates’ inflight connectivity means that all Emirates passengers in every class of travel can enjoy some form of free connectivity once they sign up for Emirates Skywards. The development has resulted in an additional 30,000 Economy Class passengers connecting to complimentary onboard Wi-Fi every week.

The year 2022 has gone down in history as a momentous one for Vodafone in Oman, launching its commercial operations and taking great leaps towards developing a telecom operator for the future. The gathering featured various activities, including a presentation of the pillars of "We the UAE 2031" Vision, highlighting areas related to the role and mission of TDRA in regulating the telecommunications sector and enabling digital transformation.
