du, owned by Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), and Digital DEWA, the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate digital transformation in Dubai.

The MoU was signed by Fahad Al Hassawi, Acting CEO of du and Eng. Marwan Bin Haidar, Vice Chairman - Digital at Digital DEWA. The signing ceremony was done in the presence of HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO DEWA; HE Ahmad Julfar, Managing Director of EITC; Farid Faraidooni, Chief New Business & Innovation Officer at du; and Eng. Waleed Salman, Vice Chairman - Energy at Digital DEWA.

Al Hassawi said: "In line with vision and directives of the wise leadership, digital transformation across the Emirate is an essential element of societal development. du is delighted to be working alongside Digital DEWA, in which both our organizations believe in synergizing and joining forces to accomplish objectives. We look forward to achieving overarching success together."

Al Tayer stated: "In line with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world, we at DEWA aim to enhance cooperation with the government and private organizations in adopting the latest smart solutions and the disruptive technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.”

Through the strategic partnership between du and Digital DEWA, the UAE’s digital infrastructure will be enhanced, alongside the provision of the latest digital services. Both parties will benefit from elevated cooperation and coordination, enabling them to meet strategic objectives and goals with even more significant effects across various digital transformation initiatives.
