Huawei and Ooredoo Group, two of the world's leading digital enablers, have signed a five-year global frame agreement that will see Huawei supply its radio, core, and transport products and solutions to the Group.
Steven Yi, member of supervisory board and president of Middle East and Africa, Huawei, said, "We are honored to sign this strategic agreement with Ooredoo, the world's leading mobile operator. We will continue to provide state-of-the-art solutions and support Ooredoo as they build world-class networks and deliver best market performance."
The agreement will enable Ooredoo to further enhance its customers’ digital experience around the world by leveraging Huawei’s Radio System, which will provide end-to-end network support. Key technologies in use include Huawei’s Blade AAU radio unit, cloud core solution, transport system, and cloud infrastructure solutions.

Huawei’s Radio System also facilitated the spread of fast nationwide 5G coverage at Ooredoo Kuwait, with the operating company also working with Huawei to deploy advanced Massive MIMO radios enabling Ooredoo Kuwait to introduce its Supernet digital experience.
Commenting on the collaboration, Saif Wang, president of key account Ooredoo at Huawei, said, "Our partnership with Ooredoo aims to enable the company to achieve sustained growth and greater success through our innovative ICT solutions. We will provide our full support to Ooredoo with high-quality network assurance to ensure the success of the significant forthcoming sporting mega-events coming to Qatar in 2022 and beyond."
The agreement covers all related implementation and integration services of Ooredoo Group operating companies; namely in Qatar, Indonesia, Algeria, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Tunisia, Myanmar, and Maldives.
