Ericsson and telecommunications operator Swisscom are now live with a full-stack telco cloud infrastructure, with the first service assisting small and medium enterprises. The Swisscom cloud-based enterprise service is deployed on Ericsson's Network Functions Virtualization infrastructure (NFVi) solution [1], and went into commercial operation in September.

Data connectivity is growing around MENA (Middle East and Africa), but telecom operators have seen their traditional revenues depleting, said Etisalat chief business officer, Salvador Anglada, speaking at the GSMA Mobile 360 MENA event in Dubai during GITEX 2017. IoT (Internet of Things), he said, will compensate operators for traditional loss of revenues if they are willing to embrace it.

Nokia and du have demonstrated how 5G will transform people's lives with a showcase of 5G robot control and live streaming at GITEX Technology Week 2017 in Dubai. The live streaming uses the Nokia OZO+ virtual reality camera and OZO Live, a real-time 3D 360 stitching software that delivers live virtual reality broadcasting.
