US President Donald Trump has angrily rejected claims that it has given in to Chinese demands over the ban imposed on telecommunications vendor ZTE. The US Commerce Department imposed a seven-year ban on ZTE exporting US technology after it claimed that the company had failed to take the appropriate action against employees that where responsible for trade violations in both Iran and North Korea.

Chinese telecommunications vendor ZTE has announced that it has been forced to suspend its major operating activities following the ban imposed by the US government. However, in a statement released by the company, ZTE did state that it was working tirelessly to find a resolution to the issue.

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. announced that it has worked with Google to implement its next generation operating system, Android P, on select Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ mobile platforms. By having early access to Android P, Qualcomm Technologies optimized its software on Snapdragon 845, 660 and 636 Mobile Platforms to ensure readiness for OEMs to upgrade to Android P at the time of launch.

The Chinese government has now restarted its protracted review of the proposed acquisition of NXP by US chipmaker Qualcomm. Antitrust regulators were asked to speed up its evaluations of newly proposed remedies to protect Chinese companies according to reports by Bloomberg.

PCCW Global, the international operating division of HKT, Hong Kong's premier telecommunications service provider, and Colt Technology Services have further progressed their blockchain Proof of Concept (PoC). Additional members of the ITW Global Leaders' Forum (GLF) are also getting involved in the initiative.

Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG), one of the leading smartphone manufacturers, signed a Global Strategic Partnership agreement with Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism). The signing ceremony was held on May 14th, 2018 at Huawei's HQ in Shenzhen, China.
