Mobile Telecommunications Company K.S.C.P. (Zain), Kuwait's leading mobile operator announced it has entered into definite agreements to sell and leaseback the passive physical infrastructure of its mobile tower portfolio in Kuwait for US$165 million to IHS Holding Limited (IHS), in partnership with Towershare Management Limited ("Towershare"). The transaction will result in the formation of a new entity that will acquire and manage Zain's tower assets in Kuwait, with Zain assuming a minority shareholding in this newly formed entity. 

The Saudi Telecom Company (STC), represented by its enterprise focused business unit, STC Business,  signed a Cloud Service Provider agreement with Thales Group, a leader  in the fields of Security, Defense, Transportation, Aerospace, and Space, Tuesday  at GITEX Technology Week as part of its drive to enable enterprise digitization, essential to achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 transformation objectives.

STC Signed Mega Deals with a number of international companies (Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei) on the margin of GITEX Dubai 2017. The first agreement was signed with Nokia to boost mobile broadband capacity and coverage in Saudi Arabia using Nokia’s 4.5G-Pro technology.  The agreements were signed by Emad A. Alaoudah, Procurement and Support Services Sector VP at STC, in the presence of Dr. Khaled H. Biyari, STC Group CEO, and Nasser Alnasser, SVP of Technology and Operations at STC.

GITEX Technology Week is the largest ICT exhibition in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia – and this year has attracted more than 4,100 companies from over 70 different countries.
