Nokia has expanded its portfolio of G.fast micro-nodes to help operators accelerate ultra-broadband deployments and deliver faster data speeds to end-customers using existing copper networks. The G.fast micro-nodes provide a simple, flexible plug-and-play solution that can scale in line with demand, allow for both distribution point and cabinet deployment models and cut roll-out times in half.

Sharjah Department of eGovernment (DeG) finalized procedures and technical preparations which are set to carry out Sharjah's "digital movement" message during the GITEX Technology Week 2016. The region's largest technology trade fair, taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre on October 16 - 20 2016, will be a key platform for DeG's mission to support 35 Sharjah-based government entities and authorities with their latest launches and e-services, which are all set to take place in one of GITEX's largest pavilions, which is the Sharjah Government stand.

Qualcomm Technologies announced the Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 5G modem, makingQualcomm the first company to announce a commercial 5G modem chipset solution. It is designed to support original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) that are building the next generation of cellular devices, as well as aid operators with early 5G trials and deployments.

Microsoft Gulf unveiled a dazzling array of solutions to the region, as the 36th GITEX Technology Week got underway at Dubai World Trade Centre. Aimed at helping Middle East organizations – regardless of size or industry – achieve more through digital transformation, the solutions spanned productivity, business intelligence, security, the cloud, mixed reality, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things. Visitors were able to get hands-on experience of these solutions in interactive Experience Zones, built thematically around Azure, Internet of Things and Mixed Reality.
