Swedish telecom operator Telia Carrier announced on September 1 that it has established a new point of presence (PoP) within Jaguar Network's Marseilles data center. Ericsson and Bombardier, a Canadian multinational aerospace and transportation company, have completed trials of LTE networks for railway solutions at simulated speeds of up to 200 kilometers per hour. A total of 11 tests were conducted in a laboratory to determine the ability of the LTE networks to support communications-based train control (CBTC) and multiservice solutions. Examples of multiservice solutions are closed-circuit television (CCTV), voice, platform information, advertising and Wi-Fi for passengers.
