The forum aims to highlight the role of the state and its leadership and activate a channel to share experiences and to encourage innovation and creativity in the field of information and communication technology and knowledge transfer, in addition to building local capabilities to address global technical challenges.The Forum also provides a platform for the exchange of views, ideas and consulting services that enriches knowledge, and the development of joint mechanisms to overcome the challenges and difficulties in the field of telecommunications and information technology.Moreover, it comprised examples of successful partnerships between the public and private sectors, and encouraged innovation to be part of a cutting-edge digital system in a way that brings benefit to the concerned parties and improve quality services and customer experience.

As for the benefits and added-value, the Forum showed the challenges related to the telecommunications sector and information technology in the UAE through the establishment of a working group to meet the specific needs and requirements, and provide the latest developments related to the global standards and next generation networks. It also focused on the importance of holding workshops and seminars related to modern technology as well as the development of national capacity to keep up with new developments and trends.

The participants also discussed the aspects related to Internet of Things (IoT) and the challenges related to machine communication. The Forum has highlighted the importance of privacy and security of information and data, and matters concerning the roaming service and the role of regulators at this level.
