A total of 32 major government and academic entities across Abu Dhabi are set to showcase a wide range of innovative digital projects at this year's edition of GITEX Technology Week. During the week-long event, the 32 government and academic entities will be featured at the Abu Dhabi Government Pavilion, headed by the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA), which will be tasked to ensure effective coordination among entities participating to help raise the emirate’s profile as a leader in the region’s digital transformation efforts.

The Abu Dhabi Government Pavilion will be highlighting its key priorities in the move to achieve digital transformation, which is covered across four main areas - government services, government solutions, data & applied intelligence and eco-system enablement. The pavilion will serve as an ideal platform for government entities in the emirate to raise awareness and promote their achievements and current efforts to further enhance Abu Dhabi’s global competitiveness and strengthen its global position as a highly preferred investment and business destination.

H.E. Dr. Rauda Saeed Al Saadi, Director General, ADDA, revealed that this year’s edition of GITEX Technology Week will see the launch of 70 innovative projects and initiatives from the participating Abu Dhabi government entities.

“ADDA, along with the other participating Abu Dhabi government entities are all set to deliver a unique experience to GITEX visitors—throwing the attention to leading developments that we have achieved in the emirate as part of our journey to digital transformation. Our efforts to bring a unified platform for all 32 government entities within Abu Dhabi have been successful and we are confident the Pavilion will attract the attention of many visitors and be informed of the pioneering initiatives of the Emirate in accelerating digital transformation,” said H.E Al Saadi.

Dr. Al Saadi further noted that the government entities have shown full cooperation throughout the preparation period, which guarantees the success of the team in showcasing advanced government services. She added that ADDA continues to work closely with the various entities to ensure proper coordination and best representation of the Abu Dhabi Government’s commitment to keep pace with global technological developments that enhance its global competitiveness and serve its vision to become a leading business and investment destination.

She pointed out that Abu Dhabi’s digital transformation has now become a reality and serves as a roadmap to support the government’s vision as mandated by the country’s wise leadership. In fact, recent achievements of the UAE in this area include its being ranked first in the Arab region and 12th globally among highly competitive countries in the IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking 2019.

During the first day, Abu Dhabi government entities are poised to hold several events including signing of new agreements and partnership opportunities, showcase innovative projects, as well as display successful initiatives that are leading Abu Dhabi’s digital transformation. These advanced technologies are designed to help entities deliver efficient services and achieve government excellence, which in turn, will provide a safe and reliable digital environment for businesses, citizens and visitors in support of Abu Dhabi’s efforts towards comprehensive and sustainable development.
