Vodafone Oman has set a new benchmark in the Sultanate’s telecommunications sector by completing the fastest 5G network rollout in Oman’s history. With over 2,572 5G sites deployed, the digital operator has achieved over 98% population coverage, a milestone reached two years ahead of its original license obligation. This extensive rollout underscores Vodafone’s commitment to pushing technological boundaries and accelerating Oman’s digital transformation.

Central to this achievement is Vodafone’s end-to-end control of its network infrastructure. By deploying over 7,500 km of fiber for site backhaul connectivity and leveraging dynamic spectrum sharing for 4G and 5G, Vodafone is ensuring optimal network performance, minimal latency, and an enhanced customer experience. The brand-new greenfield network utilizes middle- and low-frequency bands to improve indoor signal penetration, providing customers with seamless connectivity in both urban and remote areas.

Innovative Technology for a Resilient Network

Vodafone’s 5G NEXT LEVEL network is designed with innovation at its core. The deployment incorporates advanced technologies, such as dynamic spectrum sharing, multiband radio units, and 2G, 4G, and 5G integration across low- and mid-frequency bands. These features optimize space and power consumption, enhancing network sustainability.

The network’s architecture ensures resilience and scalability, preparing Oman for future technological advancements.

Enhancing Customer-Centric Innovations

Vodafone’s 5G NEXT LEVEL network is also driving the evolution of customer-centric innovations. The network's reliability and speed have paved the way for the introduction of advanced digital services.
