Dutch Telco KPN has announced that it plans to launch commercial 5G mobile network services on 28 July, ensuring more than 90% 5G coverage in the Netherlands’ top five cities.

KPN plans to offer nationwide 5G coverage by 2021 and all their customers with a 5G0enable smartphone will have access to the network as of next week in the Randstad area which covers Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht and Amsterdam, as well as Eindhoven. This will reach almost half of the country’s population.

In addition to this, 5G-only services including coverage-on-demand, application priority and guaranteed bandwidth, will be readily available for B2B customers to purchase.

In fact, earlier this week, the Dutch Telco won a 700MHz band 5G license along with an addition 1400MHz 5G spectrum.
